The plot of this eccentric comedy is based on a newspaper article, found by script co-writer Yakov Kostyukovsky, about the arrest on the Italian border of a criminal who had hidden "gold and diamonds" in the plaster cast. Two of the greates comedians of our time, Andrei Mironov and Anatoli Papanov play hilarious villains on the track to recover stolen jewels, mistakenly put into Yuri Nikulin's arm cast. Many of witty, extremely hilarious phrases from this comedy have already become proverbs, many songs have become "hits".
